A: Don't know the specific model - best get yourself a Haynes manual (or similar). If you do go for it make sure you are methodical in dis-assembly taking careful note of what clips/springs go where - your digital camera is your friend here. Any if you need to use a clamp to compress the brake caliper piston make sure you take the cap off of the brake reservoir to avoid bursting anything with the pressure. If you are not sure then get it done - it should not be that expensive ... you life is though! Have fun :-)

Q: Spark plugs on 2003 Kia Spectra?
Help! My husband went to change the spark plugs on my Kia and we cannot find them? Where are they? Anything else we need to know? Thank you!!

A: if it dos'nt have a distrubtor where you can follow the plug wires to the plugs, then each plug has its own coil. we know that they are screwed into the head, so remove any covers that will expose the cyl head and look for 4 identical small boxes, these coils don't look like normal coils, and they should be sitting right on top of the plugs that is probally why you can't see them

Q: 2003 Kia Spectra lights dim?
When I stop the car for any reason, stoplight etc. the lights go dim. When I hit the gas they go back to normal. Is this a dying battery or alternator, or anything else? It does not do it all the time, fine for a couple days than will do it one night than ok for another couple of days. No tach. I should add though it was very cold, below 0 when the problem started about a week ago. It has been doing it even when the temp was up into the 30's.

Q: 2003 Kia Spectra making loud squeaking noise?
This happens when the car is first started, then when I put it in reverse and then in drive, and when I turn, but only until the car is warmed up. I took it in the other day, but of course by then it was warmed up and wouldn't make that noise! The mechanic oiled/greased everything he could think of and said I might need a new alternator. I trust him, but I don't want to spend that kind of money! We will if we have to. We need this car to keep running for another 100,000 miles if possible. It has 114,000. We just had to replace our old car with 240,000 miles. We haven't even started the payments yet on the new one, and we sure can't afford another! Any ideas?

I have already replace the TPS valve twice with in a year, the thermostat & coolant twice with in a year and now it is telling me I need yet another thermostat! In addition, my car bucks when it slows down. I have a stick shift and will start to buck when slowing down from 60 mph to 50 mph with out putting my foot on the clutch. Plus, I have trouble starting the car both in the cold mornings and in the hot summers. Sometimes, it stalls when accellerating. Can someone out there help me? I do not want to buy a new car.
