I recently purchased a 2000 Kia Sephia with 92k. Now I have heard a lot of good things about the car and also a lot of bad. I need some help here though. I needed a car fast and it was what I could afford. The only problem I am having with it, is it acts like it wants to start stalling when I am driving, like its taking a breath or something (I know that sounds weird, but its the best way I can describe it) it is really irritating me. It has never actually stalled. Has anyone had experience with Sephia's? And if so, are they high maintence cars? How often should I get the oil changed and all that? I really dont know a lot about cars so if you could talk stupid to me, I would appreciate it..lol, Thanks!
Also I wanted to say that the car runs great except for that problem....it does seem to be cold natured though, and its "wind loud."
A: I have a Kia Sephia also. I take it to the dealership every year, for new tires and new breaks, if you take it anywhere else they will charge you an arm and a leg to fix the problem. I made the mistake and took the car to Midas last year for new breaks and now this year I started having problems again, I took it the dealership where I bought the car, Courtesy Imports, and they discovered that the breaks that I got last year, which I was told at Midas were New; Courtesy told me that Midas acutally lied to me and put on 6 year old break pads on my breaks-can you beleive, I was told by Courtesy one more week and my breaks would have failed. So anyone out there, stay away from Midas, they'll lie about anything, they do not care you die in a car crash!! My Kia drives pretty good, the good thing is though my Sephia is "scratch and dent resistant," so no matter if it ever gets hit by shopping carts etc, it never gets dented. But, it does get dirty a lot, the paint seems to attract dust. The only other problem I've had is that the lock on the front door gets stuck and will not lock, espically in the colder winter months. But, you must take it to the dealership at least 2x a year to get everything checked out and to make sure you get an oil change etc. Also, the having problems starting noise, means your car is running low on oil and it means you need an oil change.

It's a 2000 kia sephia. It has a new alternator it is only 3 months old. Had the battery and the alternator re-checked and they said it was all good and nothing was wrong with it. I have to charge the battery every night in order to get to work and back. What happens is my lights in the dash and my headlight both get really dim and it is really hard to see. My air bag light comes on and it doesnt make any shift changes. soemtimes it will last me a whole day and sometimes i can only last a few hours. it takes me 20 minutes to get to work, it stays in the parking lot for about 8 hours sometimes without being turned on and then when i turn it on to go home a few minutes later the car stalls a little my lights get really dim and my air bag light comes on. Please if you have any idea what i need to do please let me know as soon as possible. I have been having this problem for almost a month now. thanks
A: when did the concern start? also you got a draw or a possible short I wonder if the concern was there prior to the last alternator install It seems by your story though you've got a battery draw those have a few tsbs on them also some are safety issues go to www.recall.com for more info. hope this helps.p.s always disconnect the negative cable first.
