Q: Is there anyway to improve MPG on my 2004 Kia Rio Cinco thru software or replacing parts?
A: No. Believe it or not Kia spent 5 years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing that car. How much better do you think anyone else could do? The rest of the secret to better fuel economy is between your ears and in your right foot. Careful use of those will result in better fuel economy than any amount of fancy aftermarket doodads.
Q: what other car make/model wheel size is compatible w/ a kia rio 2004?
A: 22x8.5 / 4x100 lug pattern.
Q: Number os axles in KIA Rio 2004?
Can anyone let me know how many axles are there for a KIA Riod 2004 model
A: If you are asking how many axles in the vehicle type sense, like fees for toll roads, then the answer is two (1 front, 1 rear).
If you are asking about the drive axles the answer is also two (one right, one left).
Q: how much should a new, or rebuilt transmission on a 2004 KIA Rio cost?
its a 3 speed with overdrive, with 50k miles on it
and a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder.
the manufacturer wont cover it because he didn't change the trans oil every 30,000 miles like the manual said.
so if you could just throw out a price of what you think it would be that would be great =]
ok we know whats wrong with it just please answer the question
i know where i have to go. all i would like is a price plz, if your not giving the price then i dont wanna know .
A: What's wrong with it?
Have you tried to change it?
Whatever you do, go to an ATRA certified transmission shop, not a tranny store like AAMCO or MrTransmission.
Q: Do you Like the Kia Rio?
I have a 2004 Kia Rio. I love mine. It is a cute, no frills, dependable little car. It gets great MPG's. What do other Kia Rio owners think?
A: I don't have the Rio, but I recently purchased the Kia Spectra5. My Mom also got a Sorento, and we both love them!
I actually know quite a few people who own Kias and so far, everyone has mentioned that the love them. I think they're great cars, personally. With gas prices as high as they are, the cars (not necessarily the SUVs for obvious reasons) are great!
Q: Need help with my Kia Rio?
I own a 2004 Kia Rio. Recently over the past six months, I have had a problem with my car in which I am driving down the freeway at full speed (60-65 mph) and all of a sudden all of the lights in my car will turn on, my check engine light, oil light, etc. My rpm will IMMEDIATELY go down and my car will stop. I have to turn my car off and give it about 5 minutes before I can restart my car. This usually happens on wet, rainy days but has happened during dry weather. Recently I was rear ended and now my car isn't running up to par and I can feel that my car drives differently even more thatn before. Does anybody else have this same problem with there Kia Rio?
A: I used to work as a service adviser in a KIA shop and I can honestly tell you they are poorly built The Rio line has many issues with electrical, engine and transmission. Trade it and get a newer or used Honda, Toyota or Subaru. Even a Chevy is better quality. Good luck
Q: What is the rattling noise my car is making?
I have a 2004 Kia Rio. It's making a weird rattling sound when I am idle, like stopped at a red light. It gets quieter if I turn off the air conditioning.
A: Since it is a KIA, the squirrels are getting frisky this time of year. And when you are at idle, they start playing around. :)
Actually, it could be your "fan belt" or drive belt tensioner could be going out.
Q: How do I know what the shell of my car is made of?
How do I know what the shell (outside of my car is made of)? How do i know if it is metal, fiberglass, or plastic? PS I have a 2004 KIA Rio if that helps. Thanks
What about the frame of my car.
A: It's steel. All Kias are. It's a unibody and doesn't have a traditional frame though there is a sub-frame up front. Stick a magnet on it and you'll know that it's steel.
Q: What happens if the timing belt breaks ?
on a 2004 kia rio?
how do I know if I have an interference engine?
A: I had an 88 Honda Prelude on which the belt broke and 12 of the sixteen valves got bent ( I was doing 110mph) so I had to have the head rebuilt. Best case have a new belt installed and smile worst case head will need to be rebuilt.
Q: Where can I find out the MSRP value on my car?
We had a used 2004 kia rio and it was recently totaled. We had GAP insurance and they said they will pay 150% of the msrp value. Where can I find that out?
A: http://nada.com
Q: Why am i wasting so much gas?
I have a 2004 kia rio cinco....small korean v4. I am on the freeway more than i am on the streets. I work less than 10 miles from my home. Usually midful of the speed limit. yet i find myself filling up my tank every 2 or 3 days. i have a 11 galloon tank mind you. what could be the problem? any suggestions?
A: try octane boost, your pump gas your buying could be lower octane than required by manufacturer.or your accellerating to much between shifts.[LED FOOT] mite have it looked at by certified mechanic, could be leaking gas at fuel pump, tank.resulting in engine fire.
Q: cost of Kia car speakers?
I think the speakers on my car just went out. The radio lights up, the clock works and all of that and but my ipod won't play from the cigarette lighter and the radio won't play. I'm going to test it tomorrow with a CD to see if that will work, but I doubt it. So what would be the estimated cost of replacing speakers on a 2004 Kia Rio?
I was driving home today and the sound just went out, like it just turned off and the speakers have been sounding odd from time to time for a while now. I have not noticed anything else wrong with the car.
And, no, I the warranty on it just expired like 2 months ago.
Apparently, it is loose wires or something because it worked fine this morning, so the speakers are fine. So I guess I'll put off replacing it by a few more weeks.
A: I have to echo a couple things that other people said. If it goes out like that, it's most likely a loose connection somewhere or a bad head unit (cd player)...I would look into upgrading your cd player....if for some strange reason it is the speakers... get aftermarket speakers. They aren't as expensive as you'd think, and they are usually a night and day difference in sound quality over the factory speakers. Car stereo shops are usually pricey..If you're savvy enough, you can easily install a new cd player and/or speakers yourself to save some money. The connections are usually "plug-and-play" so a few screw turns...a couple plugs...and WABAM....better sound.... :]
Q: Rio vs Corolla?
I'm buying a new used car and I've narrowed it down to two choices:
1.) 2001 Toyota Corolla; base; drives nice, 53,000 miles; auto; $7400
2.) 2004 Kia Rio; base; drives nice; 30,000 miles; auto; $7200
The Kia seems to be a better buy, but I just don't know about reliability. I don't know much about Kias and I know Toyota is the best.
What car do you think I should I go with and why?
If you have any personal experience with either please give me any insight you may have.
A: Kia-
Pros:
-Cheap
-Low Mileage
-Only 4 Years Old
-Still on Warranty (I am Guessing)
Cons:
-Kia does not have the best reputation
-Not too Safe
4 Years and 30,000 Miles Ago, it did not cost too much more than now
-Build Quality is Lacking
-Resale Value is Down the Drain
Toyota-
Pros:
-It's a Toyota
-Gas Mileage is Superior
-Very Reliable
-Most Likely Elderly Driven (considering the mileage and all)
-Will last you forever
-Resale Value is Better
Cons:
-Older and More Money
-More Miles
-Not on Warranty
Bottom Line: Go for the Toyota. It will be better in the long run. Also, it may save you in a crash, Kia's are practically tin cans.
Good Luck

Q: Transmission fluid flush - cost and where ?
Hello,
I have a 2004 KIA Rio with about 50,000 miles on it. I Hvae a few questions on the transmission fluid flushing -
1) How often should I flush the transmission fluid
2) How much would it cost ideally? I know that places like Jiffy Lube charge close to 100$. But what would be the ideal cost ?
3) The cheapest place where I can do it ? ( I live in Charlotte, NC)
A: That price sounds about right, should include dropping the pan first, cleaning it out, replacing the filter and then closing it up before flushing. Trannies these days tend to be problematic so I would have a tranny service done every 35,000 to 40,000. Go to a tranny place not a drive through place, they know what fluids to use and costs are about the same, with car service you don't want to go to the "cheapest".
