Is it possible the car was programed to have the check engine light come on exactly at 48,000 miles? My husband and I can't figure out what is going on. I called the service dept. where we got the car and they said no...but are they really going to tell the truth?
A: The check engine light can mean anything. I have over 70k miles on my car and the check engine light has come on twice. The first time because the fuel cap wasn't on tight enough and the second time because I needed to replace a thermistor. You can go to some places and they will read the code for free, or you can invest in an ODB code reader which will probably cost less than getting the car checked at the dealer. Knowledge is power, so invest in one of these devices or else you might waste $100 and just have them tell you that you didn't tighten your gas cap enough.
Q: 2003 Kia Rio Transmission problem?
Just recently my car has begun to act up a lil.. and well sending it to the corner for time out isn't working....Ok here goes the question.... When I change gears... yes its a manual... it acts like i'm going to fast for the gear and lags to catch up.... I'm changing gears at 35000 rpms like I always do.. does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks for reading and thanks for helping :o)
A: have the tranny serviced, sounds like it needs a fluid change, it could be a clutch problem but unless you ride the clutch I doubt that it is unless you have allot of miles on the car.
I hope you mean 3500 RPMs because you wouldn't make it to 35000 RPMs as you would throw a rod at 7500-8000 RPMs if the rev limiter even lets you get past 6000 RPMs

Does anyone know how I could go about fixing a break fluid leak? My girlfriends car constantly needs break fluid. This morning, I moved her car, and the break pedal was being pressed to the floor, and it barely even managed to stop. I realize how dangerous this is, and I would like to fix it. Your help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
A: If you have to keep adding fluid it has a leak some where. Chances are it's at one of the wheels but get under it and check it out. It should be very obvious to where it is leaking.

i cant seem to foind anything wrong..
A: Code P0121 is TP (throttle position) sensor range performance problem.
P0300 is engine random misfire or misfire at two more cylinders.
I would correct the P0121 code first. TP sensor circuit may have open or short circuit in sensor or wiring.
Best way to capture the glitch in this circuit is using Oscilloscope.
TP sensor costs around US$60
