Q: I have a 2005 kia optima 4 cyl. my temp gauge says overheating but the car is actually fine....?
My radiator resivore is still full there is no steam coming from the engine and no loss of power. im thinkin it might be a sensor if so where is this sensor. the needle goes to the red and stays there
if started cold it warms up as usual but then just continues climbing up to the red but ive also noticed it climbs faster than before but that could be cuz its getting hot here in arizona
A: does it go to the red immediatly after starting the car or does it gradually go up in a minute or two and stay there? just because there is no steam and the antifreeze is full doesnt mean it isnt overheating. A thermostat could go bad and not cause steam, loss of coolant, or loss of power.if it goes up to red immediatly after starting the car, like within 1 or 2 seconds, then yes, the sending unit is faulty. Sorry, i dont know where it is. but it has a two wire hookup and is probably on the back of the engine somewhere. if you pull it out it will have a 5/16ish post sticking out of it.and unless you drain the cooling system, you will get quite a mess.
Q: how do i reset a keyless entry remote for a 2005 kia optima lx? i just bought the car used from a private owne?
they said they never used it because the battery was dead and they just never got another battery well i bought another battery and the little light on the remote lights up so i know it works but it doesnt unlock or lock any of the doors and i know with my old car you had to reset it....well i cant find the info in the manuals so does anyone how do i this....i tried holding down both lock and unlock for a few seconds but nothing i figured maybe with the key in the car and nothing....so im not sure how to reset it...please help!!!

Q: Why does the steering wheel shimmy back and forth while I am driving?
I have a 2005 Kia Optima and when I am driving about 10 to 40 miles an hour the steering wheel shimmies or shakes. Am I looking at serious problems coming soon or what?
A: You probably just have a wheel misalignment; not serious, but needs to be realigned. Or maybe one of your front tires is seriously bald and the other in good shape.
Q: anyone know about kia's ?
i might buy a 2005 kia optima,,with 40,000 miles. its in good shape,,,,does anyone know if these are good cars?
A: Kias tend to be near the bottom of the reliability rankings. They aren't horrible on reliability(no brand is), but they aren't top tier. What kind of price are they looking at giving you?
Q: is it possible that someone could have switched the vin on my car?
i was sold a 2006 kia optima but its really a 2005 but the vin number states that its a 2006
A: how do you know it's an 05? go by the vin when selling it said its a 06 then its a 06. too much trouble to in going to switch the vin from a 05 to a 06 optima..there's absoultly no point in doing so..doesn't increase price of car much..unless is a stolen car and someone decided to switch vin but i highly doubt it

A: well the most important thing is if you know the vehicle history.
if the car has been well maintained.
oil changes, filters etc.
the Kia Optima is a very good car but ppl are scared of the brand name.
avoid the Suzuki it has the worst reliability.
Mercury sables can be good and bad
Chevy just isn't great.
Nissan is usually a good value
don't pick the Chevy or the suzuki and you'll be ok.
